Boulangerite with Quartz

ID: CC20095
A domed mound of Quartz covered with long, narrow Quartz crystals and between these a continuous thick mat of hair-like sparkling acicular crystals of Boulangerite, a lead antimony sulphide.  This very rich specimen is from the famous mines at Příbram in the Czech Republic, an area from where Boulangerite is extremely rare.  The grey-silver needles form a dense intergrown array between the protruding Quartz crystals, which have in turn protected the Boulangerite from damage.  An exceedingly fine and rare specimen of Boulangerite with nicely crystallised Quartz from Příbram.
