To describe this specimen as outstanding is no overstatement! Hundreds of perfect, 2 mm gemmy golden-lemon octahedral Scheelite crystals cover the tabular terminations of Zinnwaldite mica crystals from Cínovec at Krušné Hory, in the Ústí Region of the Czech Republic. Adding even further to its spectacular appearance are three circular starbursts of metallic-white-silver Zinnwaldite of 1.5 to 2.5 cm across: both unusual and beautiful. The myriad of Scheelite crystals sparkle, no matter from where the specimen is lit or observed. Black blades of Ferberite occur between the foliation of the zinnwaldite on the sides/back of the specimen. The specimen is labelled Zinnwaldite, the still-popular name for the mid-member of the Siderophyllite-Polylithionite mica series. Ferberite, more commonly termed Wolframite, forms a continuous series with Hübnerite. Such technicalities aside, it is a fantastic, aesthetic and modestly priced specimen!
