Quartz var. Sceptre Amethyst

ID: CC20114
The variation in habit of sceptred Amethyst from the occurrence in the Chiredzi mining district of Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe is remarkable.  Although this is a sceptre, it appears more like a double terminated Amethyst Quartz crystal sat on the apex of a single, slightly larger, hexagonal Quartz crystal. The Amethyst crystal contains incredibly unusual inclusions; sinusoidal acicular threads, each with pin head shaped caps.  Quite remarkable under magnification.
