Richterite is a rare and complex sodium-calcium magnesium silicate and this rich and well crystallised example is from its type locality at the world-famous Långban mining district in Filipstad, Sweden.  Långban is one of the world’s most prolifically mineralised ore deposits with an amazing diversity of species and is type locality to 73 species, presently beating Tsumeb’s count by one!  Broad lath-like terracotta-pink crystals of Richterite to 7 x 4 mm richly cover etched white Calcite covering a fracture plane of a complex, mottled crystalline-skarn matrix.  An old handwritten label is attached to this fine specimen; a Richterite that will make a very worthy addition to a Långban or systematic collection.
