An attractive and rare location specimen from the Silius mining district on the Italian island of Sardinia. The mines in this area exploit a fluorite vein system containing lead and zinc sulphide mineralisation. A massive Fluorite matrix is entirely covered in excellent distorted cubic crystals of pale cobalt-pink Fluorite, themselves heavily coated with golden-bronze Marcasite crystals to about 3 mm. The Fluorite forms elongated cubes, the most predominant of which forms a vertical tower measuring 2.8 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm. A remarkably crystallised Fluorite sprinkled with metallic Marcasite from Sardinia.
