A delightful group of separated, individual nail-head Calcite crystals which vary in height from 1 to 2 cm and average around 1.5 cm.  The crystals are translucent, beginning light grey at their bases and often darkening toward their perfect nail-head terminations.  The three-fold termination faces are mainly a darker grey with some tinged earthy reddish-tan.  The crystals are developed vertically from an attractive flat matrix of banded salmon-pink, white and dark grey Calcite.  The specimen has a rather surprising and delightful base of flattened rhombic faces uniformly coated in a film of dull golden Pyrite.
