Native Silver

ID: CC20249
A magnificent miniature of tarnished Native Silver wires densely capping a creamy Calcite matrix intermixed with granular Native Silver.  This specimen, from the Příbram mining district in Central Bohemia, Czech Republic, has an intergrown mat of gnarled twisted thick black wires of Native Silver in a Medusa-like tangle of writhing snakes; this sounds over-dramatic but is true – just take a look!  Individual wires easily reach 2 cm in length, but will exceed this because of their tortuous growth.  For its size this specimen is incredibly rich, aesthetic and a superb example.
