ID: CC20332
A classic, old-time Millerite, with metallic globular Stilpnomelane, from the historic locality at Antwerp in Jefferson County, New York state, USA.  Although not recorded on the original label, this will be from the old Sterling iron mine adjacent to the town of Antwerp.  The Millerite forms a beautiful radiating spray of brassy-buff acicular needles to 1.7 cm, across a matrix of greyish-milky Quartz and 1 mm diameter spheres of brassy-golden Stilpnomelane.  An excellent and historic Millerite from New York state held securely in a protective rectangular plastic specimen box.
