This ex-matrix, group of reticulated Cerussite crystals carries the patina and appearance of an old specimen, dating from probably the second quarter of the nineteenth century.  The Cerussite forms translucent light buff bladed crystals, typically between 0.8 and 1.5 cm wide and up to around 2.3 cm high.  They form a reticulated herringbone pattern and are heavily coated with a rusty to deep chocolate-brown crust of Limonite and/or Siderite.

Ex. the Mineral Collection of Archduke Stephan Franz Viktor of Hungary (1817 to 1867), but does not have either the Archduke (Erzherzog) Stephan or small Carl Rumpff labels.  A small “ coll. Stephan 1882” label is glued to the specimen’s side.
