Small, well formed lenticular, nail-head Calcite crystals averaging 2 mm in diameter totally cover the top surface of a flat plate of massive Calcite matrix. The translucent creamy Calcite crystals are stacked on top of each other, forming miniature pagoda-like structures. Overgrowing the Calcite are acicular colourless crystals of Baryte, an uncommon habit for this species. The Baryte is semi-transparent with well terminated crystals reaching almost 1.5 cm in length. A fine specimen from Příbram in Central Bohemia, Czech Republic.
Ex. the Mineral Collection of Archduke Stephan Franz Viktor of Hungary (1817 to 1867), with a historic Archduke (Erzherzog) Stephan label incorporating his coat of arms. This large label measures 9.9 x 8.2 cm and it complete (untrimmed) and is numbered 95/41. A small label bearing this same number is glued to one side of the specimen, together with a Carl Rumpff label, dated 1889. This large format Archduke label is in very good condition with no folds. Also accompanying this specimen are two hand written labels; one probably contemporary with the Archduke label and one somewhat more modern incorporating Miller indices notation.
