Colourless, gemmy-clear trigonal crystals of the zeolite Chabazite densely cover a roughly 7 x 3 cm area on a matrix of hard, light to mid-grey slatey matrix.  The Chabazite is associated with massive, bright silver to light-grey Galena from Samson mine at St. Andreasberg, Lower Saxony, Germany.  Chabazite is now recognised as a series within the zeolite group, containing Ca, K, Mg, Na and Sr rich species.  The crystals are mainly around 1 to 2 mm, but do occur up to 6 mm in length.

Ex. the Mineral Collection of Archduke Stephan Franz Viktor of Hungary (1817 to 1867), but does not have the Archduke (Erzherzog) Stephan label.  A small Carl Rumpff label, dated 1889 is glued to the specimen’s base together with the Archduke catalogue number, 254/25.  The specimen comes with one of the unique thick green card boxes which the Archduke had specifically made to house the specimens.
