Three cm thick druses of light-grey to greyish-cream Stilbite crystals richly cover a small matrix of mid-grey blocky slate from the St. Andreasberg mining district in Lower Saxony, Germany.  The Stilbite forms single tapering crystals as well as typical Stilbite bowties to over 1 cm long with a glassy lustre.  Stilbite now refers to a zeolite subgroup, but remains undifferentiated in this case, as in most private contemporary collections.

Ex. the Mineral Collection of Archduke Stephan Franz Viktor of Hungary (1817 to 1867), with a historic Archduke (Erzherzog) Stephan label incorporating his coat of arms.  This label measures 10.0 x 8.0 cm; it is complete (untrimmed) and is numbered 240/30.  A small label bearing this same number is glued to the base of the specimen along with a Carl Rumpff label, dated 1889.  The Archduke label is in fair condition; it has been folded three times, leaving two vertical and one horizontal crease.  A rectangular area framed by these creases is much darker than the remaining, fresher looking label.
