An aesthetic specimen of Chalcopyrite coating Tetrahedrite crystals to 1.2 cm on edge, perched on a bed of small buff-coloured Siderite crystals.  Two small complex Galena crystals sit to one side next to a larger and cleaved cubic Galena crystal.  From Clausthal-Zellerfeld in Harz, Lower Saxony, Germany, the Chalcopyrite forms a thin 0.5 mm coating over the gunmetal-grey Tetrahedrite crystals; the Chalcopyrite is a speckled, golden-brass colour displaying slight iridescence.  The Siderite has a bright silky lustre and is peppered with 1 mm, creamy-translucent curved blades of Dolomite.

Ex. the Mineral Collection of Archduke Stephan Franz Viktor of Hungary (1817 to 1867), with a historic Archduke (Erzherzog) Stephan label incorporating his coat of arms.  This smaller label measures 8.5 x 4.8 cm; it is complete (untrimmed) and is numbered 4[?]60/84; the “4” is badly rubbed and not that legible.  There is not a catalogue number or Carl Rumpff label glued to this specimen.  This smaller sized Archduke label is in moderate condition, with a quite heavy foxing but remains unfolded, and hence no creases.
