Yet another classic and top-quality specimen from Saxony.  Octahedral Acanthite crystals, a silver sulphide, form a stacked tower culminating is a magnificent Acanthite crystal measuring 1.3 cm on edge and about 1.6 cm between opposite corners.  From Shaft 38 at Niederschlema in Bad Schlema, Saxony, Germany, the overall specimen height measures 3.5 cm and is displayed to full effect, mounted vertically on a clear acrylic base.  The crystals have naturally etched faces revealing crude but well-defined triangular growth patterns.  The Acanthite is a uniform graphite-silver-grey with a speckled metallic lustre.  Glued near the specimen’s base is part of an obviously very-old label.  An outstanding and spectacular miniature of wonderfully crystallised Acanthite.
