Collectors of Cornish minerals will be familiar with many forms of Calcite from the legendary Geevor and Levant mines, both close to Land’s End. This superb pair of accompanying specimens shows a rare yet more simple Calcite habit, in the form of squat colourless translucent hexagonal prisms with flat, milky-white pinacoidal terminations. The rich coverage of Calcite crystals sit on an interesting matrix of reddish-black Goethite, pale olive-green Chlorite and vein Quartz.
