An old and rare example of the copper halide Atacamite from Braubach in the Bad Ems District of Germany; a specimen which was once in the collection of Archduke Stephan Franz Victor von Habsburg-Lothringen.  The Atacamite forms sub-mm botryoidal dusky sage-green carpets over a matrix of creamy-buff limestone.  A delightful, but trimmed, 7.2 x 4.8 cm Archduke Stephan label accompanies this specimen with its catalogue number 145/17.  This number is not attached to the specimen in this case.  A Carl Rumpff label, the German industrialist who bought the collection, is also attached to the specimen along with a separate (and exceedingly rare) small C. Rumpff card label.  A beautiful Atacamite from this most famous of old European collections.
