Golden to straw-yellow cubic crystals of glassy Fluorite form a jagged, angular dome covering a hidden core of altered iron-rich limestone.  The crystals are typically around 1 cm across, but a few do attain 1.8 cm.  The outer gemmy zones of each crystal are a golden-syrup yellow with an inner central core of frosted pale straw-yellow.  Although not at first obvious, each cube has a very thin outer band of pale lavender which adds a beautiful delicate framework highlighting each crystal.
