Fluorite

ID: CC20607
The Fairy Holes Pocket at Lady Annabella mine produces smaller sized Fluorite crystals which always divide into two groups; sub-1 cm pale non-fluorescent crystals and 1 cm plus zoned, intently daylight fluorescent crystals.  This large miniature has a nodular, altered, iron-rich limestone matrix core entirely covered with Fluorite crystals.  These occur as pale green small cubes to around 8 mm and on top of these, at least six much larger Fluorite crystals, the largest being interpenetrant twins.  All the large crystals are the familiar chrome to nickel sea-green and are almost entirely gemmy throughout.  Delicate green and lilac colour zoning is visible in the larger crystals and these, in direct daylight emit a dazzling and intense Royal purple fluorescence.   A simply gorgeous Fairy Holes Pocket Fluorite!
