The more specimens we see from The Bull Vein, the more we recognise major and more subtle variations in the Fluorite mineralogy, in terms of colour and colour zonation.  The veins represent the near vertical feeder ‘pipes’ of the original ore deposition system, through which metal-rich brines migrated up and then outwards, flowing the horizontal jointing within the Great Limestone.  This lovely miniature of straw-coloured glassy Fluorite is another fine example of numerous smaller single crystals (typically 1 to 1.5 cm wide) and topped by a larger and gemmy interpenetrant twin.  Such twins also tend to be the most transparent of all the crystals in the group.  The twins have an outer near-surface fine band of pale lavender embedded within the gemmy straw-yellow Fluorite.
