This ex-matrix, interpenetrant twinned Fluorite from The Bull Vein at Lady Annabella mine, Weardale, displays quite stunning and magnificent colour zoning.  Wonderfully colour-zoned Fluorite is well known to existing connoisseurs of Eastgate, but this amazing specimen would enhance even the best of these collections.  Each twinned crystal measures 4 cm on its longest edge.  Both crystals are a golden honey-yellow framed by a vivid purple zoned band, and then an outer pale greyish blue zone which meets the external faces.  In daylight, natural fluorescence enhances the zoning even more, and it is exquisite.  In artificial SWUV the specimen displays an almost negligible ghostly blue-white fluorescence, but under LWUV, it is an uninterrupted continuum of blue-white, blue and lavender brilliant fluorescence.
