A small cabinet sized Fluorite from The Bull Vein at Lady Annabella mine, close to Eastgate in Weardale, of characteristic sherry/root beer-tan with a mauve cast.  The crystals range from a groundmass of sub-cm single cloudy crystals up to much larger and twinned gemmy crystals. Where the Fluorite does form interpenetrant twins, the pairs always comprise of one large and one small crystal, the larger two measuring 1.8 cm and 3.3 cm, although the latter is incomplete.  A subtle natural daylight fluoresce reddens the specimens, turning most of the crystals an attractive mauve.
