Elbaite (Tourmaline)

An aesthetic combination of Elbaite Tourmaline crystals with milky Quartz from the recently discovered pocket at Coronel Murta in Minas Gerais, Brazil. A 3 cm tall candy-pink and raspberry-red Elbaite crystal is attached to an intergrown cluster of tiny bubble gum-pink Elbaite crystals, these ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 cm long. Pure white, milky Quartz crystals are intermixed with this group and similar, but larger, Quartz crystals are attached to the base of the large Elbaite on the opposite side. The main crystal is translucent with relatively smooth and frosted prism faces and an asymmetric yet perfect pyramidal termination of high lustre. A great thumbnail.
