An elegant 5.5 cm tall Elbaite Tourmaline from Coronel Murta in Minas Gerais, Brazil, mounted vertically on a bevelled clear acrylic base. The lower 4 cm grades from electric lime-green to sea-green, then mustardy-green, and finally zingy lime-green. The final 1.5 cm varies from pink-tinted colourless Elbaite to floury, whitish bubble gum-pink and terminating creamy-golden-lemon! The entire crystal is semi-transparent and filled with crystalline reflecting planes and wispy black inclusions. The termination divides into four distinct separated crystals, each with its own pyramidal asymmetric faces. A delightful ex-matrix Elbaite Tourmaline from Coronel Murta.
