The Fairy Holes Pocket at Lady Annabella mine is named after a natural cave system into which the former Eastgate-Blue Circle quarry impinged and partly consumed. This small miniature has a superb interpenetrant twinned Fluorite, the larger crystal being 1.6 cm on its longest edge and the smaller, 1.4 cm. These are semi-transparent and show excellent green and purple colour zoning throughout. In direct daylight the Fluorite naturally fluoresces delicate lilac while the inner purple banded zone is bright Royal-purple. The crystals have smooth faces with distinct nested square growth patterns. The smaller Fluorite has a bevelled corner which is stepped, indicating a natural modification and not damage. Contrasting against a layer of snow-white Calcite, this is a charming Fairy Holes Pocket specimen.
