The Sherry Twins Pocket at Lady Annabella mine, Eastgate, has produced a limited suite of distinctly sherry coloured large cubic Fluorite crystals which typically grade from transparent with many gemmy zones through to a base of clouded white, semi-opaque Fluorite, and often all within the same crystal. This specimen is just such an example, with the largest cube 3.8 cm on edge and transgressing from a gemmy top to an opaque lower half. Although internally flawed with many intersecting optical planes and structures, the upper interior is remarkably transparent and gemmy. The general colour is pale amber-sherry with several internal reflective planes of bright iridescent peacock blues, greens, and yellows. The gemmy cubic crystals are edged with thin dark lines. In direct daylight these lines fluoresce bright lavender and under low magnification (a x5 loupe), seven successive colour bands can be counted, of alternating lavender-lilac and sherry. Fabulous!
