The Fluorite from the Poison Ivy Pocket at Lady Annabella mine has become an instant favourite amongst those collected who have been quick to get hold of a specimen (or more!) since their discovery in summer 2020. The year which will enter history books as that of Covid-19 will, more happily, be noted among mineral collectors as the dawn of the Lady Annabella mine. This gorgeous miniature is an intergrown cluster of complexly colour-zoned green Fluorite crystals, ranging between 2 and 2.5 cm on edge. Looking at it back-lit, each cubic crystal is perfectly framed by bright lime-emerald green, perfectly parallel and gemmy edges, then grades through gemmy green tinged colourless zones to creamy central frosted clouds within the crystal. In daylight all the edges and core glow a mild blueish-purple due to natural daylight fluorescence. These green crystals mask a subsurface layer of greyish Fluorite over a 2 cm diameter Galena and ironstone core. A delightful specimen.
