The Sherry Twins Pocket at Lady Annabella mine has produced only a limited number of specimens and this fine example is so characteristic.  A single, interpenetrant twin of transparent, gemmy medium-sherry coloured Fluorite crystals measure 3.7 cm and 2.8 cm on their longest edges.  Their edges are razor sharp and their faces mirror-smooth with a superb glassy lustre.  The faces display subtle growth patterns of concentrically diminishing squares, receding away from the edges, towards the face-centre.  As with most if not all Sherry Twins Pocket specimens, each crystal gradually grades from the gemmy twinned display faces to an opaque creamy-white Fluorite which forms their lower halve.  Held in direct daylight the gemmy zones fluoresce a mild yet impressive blueish-Royal purple.  A delightfully coloured twinned fluorite from Lady Annabella mine and a rare colour for the Weardale mining district.
