• Fluorite

ID: CC20965
The Okorusu mine in central northern Namibia is a large open pit worked for Fluorite and began operating as long ago as 1920, hence it has now passed its one hundredth anniversary.  This mine is known for its superb green and blue Fluorite and this miniature is sensational.  Sharp cubic crystals to 2.3 cm on edge are largely transparent and display magnificent nested cubes outlined by colour-zoned edges in teal blue, chrome green and almost colourless Fluorite.  In addition to these colour zones, the corners are highlighted by bevelled angular colour zones and odd wisps of ethereal purple passing through the prism bodies.  A gorgeous colour zoned Fluorite from Okorusu.
