Fluorite with Quartz

ID: CC20968
If you have been searching for a good representative example of colour-zoned Fluorite from the famous Okorusu mine, then this may be just the specimen that fits the bill.  This small miniature is essentially one single cubic crystal measuring 2.8 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm with five much smaller Fluorite cubes interpenetrant with this along three sides.  All the cubic crystals are essentially transparent containing complex colour zoning from deep purple at the outer edges passing through navy blue, indigo, sea-green and one narrow yet quite intense lime green band.  The Fluorite crystals envelop a central core of light chocolate-brown matrix which forms an irregular moss-like opaque core.  Scattered over the Fluorites are a few small colourless and milky Quartz crystals.  Simply a delightfully coloured and colour-zoned Fluorite from the Okorusu mine in the Otjiwarongo District of Namibia.
