• Fluorite

ID: CC20972
Glassy green and purple cubic Fluorite crystals of between 0.6 and 1.2 cm create a stacked mound 4 cm high over a matrix of massive raspberry-purple Fluorite.  This impressive specimen is from the famous Okorusu mine in the Otjiwarongo District of Namibia.  The crystals are mainly regular cubes with flat unmarked faces and a glassy to slightly waxy lustre.  All crystals are transparent with outer purple faces and rich emerald-leaf green centres, the latter becoming translucent.  Some crystals exhibit modified stepped edges and corners, although these are of a relatively simple geometry.  An exceptionally fine multi-coloured Fluorite from Okorusu in Namibia.
