Descloizite

The Berg Aukas mine in the Grootfontein District of Namibia is best known for its world-class Descloizite.  This miniature is a beautiful example and exceptional value for money.  An irregular, roughly 3.8 x 6.4 cm plate is entirely covered with excellent reddish-clove complex Descloizite crystals forming stacked towers of interlocked spear heads, these attaining 1.7 cm tall and up to 1.6 cm wide.  I can see no damage to any of the crystals and once back-lit all crystals turn a glowing deep cherry-red to caramel-orange.  It is a delightful specimen at a great price, one which please a novice or even the specialise Descloizite collector.
