The ancient Příbram mining district in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic is often regarded as one of the top ten mineral localities in the world and without any doubt would come in the top twenty. This light clove-brown to clove-tan miniature Pyromorphite is one of the rarer colours of its species from this locality as the majority tend to be bright green. The range in colour of Pyromorphite at Příbram is interestingly similar to that throughout the Broken Hill mining district in New South Wales. A richly crystallised, 4 x 2 cm area of acicular to stubby tan-brown Pyromorphite crystals to 1.4 cm and, more typically, 0.5 to 1 cm, cover a matrix of solid metallic silver Galena with a bright metallic lustre. This colour of Pyromorphite indicates it is Calcium-rich. A great Příbram Pyromorphite from the Josef Clemente (1899-1987) Collection of southern Germany.
