As a collector of British minerals I have to admit I love Campylite, the barrel-shaped variety of Mimetite from Dry Gill mine in the Caldbeck Fells of Cumbria, England.  It’s one of those minerals that no matter how many specimens you may have, there always seems just one more which becomes essential!  This large miniature is a little beauty, rich in mustard to lemon yellow, almost spherical crystals richly scattered over an aesthetically contrasting matrix of sooty black Pyrolusite.  All the Campylite crystals have a superb glassy lustre and sparkle throughout the wide open vug.  This delightful (and most tempting) specimen comes with an extremely old handwritten card label.
