Pucherite is an extremely rare bismuth vanadate and this richly crystallised specimen is from its type locality at Schneeberg in Saxony, Germany. The specific type locality is the Pucher Shaft in the Wolfgang Maaßen mines group at Schneeberg, but whether this specimen came from here is unknown. I estimate about 200 perfectly formed micro-crystals of Pucherite are scattered across the grey and off- white Quartz vein matrix, each sub-mm but well developed and of translucent, burnt to mid-apricot-orange. Also coating the matrix are rich micro-crystallised lemon areas of an unknown bismuth mineral. This is possibly Petitjeanite but, please note, this is only a suggestion. The rare species Pucherite from Schneeberg and ex. the Josef Clemente (1899-1987) Collection of southern Germany.
