Minerals from the world-famous Leadhills-Wanlockhead ore field in southern Scotland are becoming ever harder to find as there were relatively few saved.  They are now much sought after and highly prized by collectors.  This good example of crystallised Anglesite is attributed to the ore field in general, rather than specifically Leadhills (in Lanarkshire) and Wanlockhead (in Dumfriesshire).  The Anglesite forms colourless transparent to translucent crystals of between 4 and 5 mm with a bright glassy lustre lining a 2.5 x 2.5 cm vug in a mixed rusty Quartz veinstone and Galena matrix.
