Minerals from the world-famous Leadhills-Wanlockhead orefield in southern Scotland are becoming ever harder to find as they were relatively few and are much sought after and prized by collectors.  This good example of crystallised Anglesite is attributed to the orefield in general, rather than specifically Leadhills (which is in Lanarkshire) and Wanlockhead (in Dumfriesshire).  The Anglesite forms colourless transparent to translucent crystals of between 4 and 5 mm lining a 2.5 x 2.5 cm vug in a mixed rusty Quartz veinstone and Galena matrix.  A Scottish classic.
