Troostite is a red-brown variety of Willemite which was found throughout most parts of the orebody at Tsumeb.  Tsumeb, principally a Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag mine produced unusual varieties of numerous mineral species and Troostite is one of its classics.  This is an exceptionally fine example and all the better for carrying the price tag of $450.  The 5.0 x 4.5 cm surface of a mixed massive Willemite and Dolomite matrix is encrusted with reddish tinted chocolate brown Willemite which forms drusy botryoidal spheres and hemispheres.  These are especially rich in a 3 x 1.5 cm open vug that displays perfectly from the angle at which the specimen naturally sits.  Two bands of massive pale blue Willemite traverse this face while an area of crystalline blue Willemite resides on the back.
