This somewhat jumbled tower of stacked pink Elbaite Tourmaline crystals is from a new gem pocket found in the Coronel Murta district of Minas Gerais, Brazil.  One terminated crystal measuring 2.4 cm tall is attached vertically to a small colourless acrylic base.  Across the top of this is sat a part, unterminated Elbaite prism, perhaps better described as a shard with broken, hackly ends.  Capping this is a third Elbaite cluster, with one cleaved prism topped with a 6 mm long double terminated semi-gemmy cerise crystal.  Save for the latter, all the prisms are opaque candy pink with translucent flashes along prism edges.  No repairs have been made to this specimen and it is nicely displayed on a small colourless acrylic base.
