This somewhat unusually coloured Fluorite is from Buster Pocket in Diana Maria mine just west of the village of Frosterley in Weardale, County Durham.  The elongated cubic crystals appear sage to sea green but on closer inspection, this colour results from a blend of nested zoned colours in various subdued sea and herb green zones surrounding lilac centres.  The edges of the cubes are preferentially encrusted with tiny bright white Quartz crystals giving sucrosic textured rims.  The Fluorite crystals range approximately between 1 and 1.8 cm long; are essentially transparent with gemmy zones and cover a matrix of muddy grey ironstone.  Under LWUV the entire specimen fluoresces bright violet-blue.  A handsome cabinet specimen of a seldom seen Buster Pocket Fluorite.
