This small cabinet specimen of Fluorite scattered amongst a bed of tiny Quartz crystals is from the Buster Pocket in the Diana Maria mine near to Frosterley in Weardale.  Small single cubes of Fluorite averaging 3 to 8 mm are scattered over the Quartz which covers a flattish disk of iron-rich heavily altered limestone.  On the Quartz sit two separate interpenetrant twinned Fluorite crystals of 0.9 and 1.5 cm on edge, respectively.  Both crystals are a bluish pale sage green containing much transparency and zones of translucency.  Under LWUV the display surface is a speckled patchwork of bright bluish-white Fluorite fluorescing against the black, non-fluorescent Quartz.
