The Papa Pocket is named for Diana Maria Bruce’s father who made this discovery in the Diana Maria mine, just west of the village of Frosterley in Weardale, County Durham.  The Papa Pocket has become highly regarded amongst collectors because of its exquisite colour and gemmy quality, both attributes being aptly captured in this beautiful and well-priced large miniature.  All the Fluorite crystals form elongated prisms, departing from the simple and common cubic habit to markedly rectangular.  The largest crystal measures 1.5 cm along its longest axis and most are interpenetrant twins.  All crystals are a bright light emerald green tending towards chrome green with excellent transparency.  All crystals are sharp edged with smooth glassy faces and a mirror-like lustre.  A gorgeous gemmy green Fluorite from the Papa Pocket at Diana Maria mine.
