The November Gem pocket is characterised by cubic crystals of gemmy, mossy-emerald-green Fluorite. Both single and twinned crystals occur and can occasionally be distorted.  Larger crystals often exhibit magnificent deep lilac-blue daylight fluorescence and none-gemmy crystals are usually mossy-green with pale creamy-green crazed centres.  All these characteristics are beautifully displayed in this lovely miniature of emerald green Fluorite from the November Gem Pocket in the Diana Maria mine near to Frosterley in Weardale, County Durham.  Covering both sides of a thin plate of ironstone matrix, the display face is dominated by a magnificent interpenetrant twin whose maximum dimension is 2.4 cm and whose faces turn rich violet in direct daylight due to its natural daylight fluorescence.  Under LWUV the entire specimen fluoresces bright bluish-white.  A stunning Fluorite from the November Gem Pocket in Diana Maria mine.
