This excellent large miniature Fluorite with Galena is from the Heavy Metal Pocket in the Diana Maria mine, just west of the village of Frosterley in Weardale.  Emerald to leafy-nickel green Fluorite crystals cover an ironstone matrix, amongst which nestle several cuboctahedral Galena crystals.  The fluorite crystals measure up to 1.8 cm, range from transparent to translucent with some opaque patches and have good natural fluorescence in daylight, the outer faces changing to deep Oxford blue.  Under LWUV all the Fluorite crystals fluoresce bright purple white.  A lovely Fluorite with Galena from Weardale.
