This beautiful zoned miniature Fluorite is from The Bull Vein at Lady Annabella mine in Weardale, County Durham, England.  This specimen was recovered during the Autumn 2020 mining season at this new operation which works part of the former Eastgate quarry, also known to collectors as the Blue Circle Cement Quarry.   Fluorite crystals coat a rusty orange brown ironstone matrix covered with many cubic Fluorite crystals of around 1 cm.  Nestling in the centre is a 1.7 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm cubic Fluorite crystal whose top half is optically perfect, displaying a fabulous gemmy transparency.  The crystal grades from lemon straw yellow to a 2 mm deep outer zone of delicate pale sage green finishing at the surface with lilac.  Under LWUV the Fluorite fluoresces bright whitish lilac.  A splendid Fluorite from the Lady Annabella mine in Weardale.
