A gorgeous cabinet specimen of dark green Fluorite in the form of large cubes from the wonderfully named Truffle Pig Pocket in Diana Maria mine near to Frosterley in Weardale.  This pocket sits near to the intersection of the Sutcliffe and Greenbank veins and was discovered in the floor of an advancing drive.  Because the pocket was at and below floor level, the specimen recovery team looked as if they were busy truffle hunting!  Four primary intermeshed cubic crystals of up to 4.2 cm on edge have dark forest green transparent corners and clouded green face centres mottled off-white.  In daylight the corner sections naturally fluoresce the richest and deepest royal purple imaginable!  A magnificent Truffle Pig Fluorite which is sure to delight.
