Los Lamentos in Chihuahua State, Mexico, is one of the country’s most famous sources of wonderfully crystallised Wulfenite. This cabinet specimen is a good hand size example and is virtually a solid mass of intergrown Wulfenite crystals which display well from both main faces (display face and base) and all sides. The Wulfenite forms thick, mainly square to rectangular crystals of intense apricot orange, measuring up to 1.4 cm on edge. The majority of crystals form a triple sandwich-like layered prism, with rich apricot outer faces and a central intense zingy orange layer, this having a bright glassy lustre. Between some of the Wulfenite crystals creamy micro-druses of Hemimorphite crystals form creamy-white patches and bands. A stunning Los Lamentos Wulfenite.
