A single, ex-matrix, inky blue cubic crystal of Boleite makes an eye-catching specimen from the Amelia mine at Santa RosalĂa (El Boleo) in Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is a large crystal measuring a generous 1.1 x 1.1 x 1.0 cm and is opaque with a thin outer semi-translucent rind. The Boleite, a complex potassium-lead-silver-copper oxychloride, is deep indigo blue, just like a pool of ink with a bright reflective lustre. A super-cute small thumbnail specimen of Boleite.
