This lovely large thumbnail of well crystallised greenish blue Clinoclase is from its type locality at Wheal Gorland in the parish of Gwennap, Cornwall, England. Rich clusters of Clinoclase crystals cover an area of approximately 3 x 1 cm on top of a highly porous, Quartz gossan, tinged primarily pale candy pink. Clinoclase is a hydrous copper arsenate and here forms crystals to about 3 mm long, occasionally in the classic beetle shape and always with a bright glassy lustre. Three old labels are glued on top of each another on the specimen, the most recent numbered 358.
