A superb Millerite from the famous Coed-Ely Colliery in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, possibly the most famous Millerite locality in South Wales. Superb Millerite crystals criss-cross a Siderite-lined cavity within a 1.8 cm wide Siderite vein in a block of ironstone. The base of the specimen is sawn flat. The hair-like acicular crystals measure up to almost 3 cm long and are a semi-lustrous metallic dull gold. Some of the Millerite crystals do protrude above the cavity opening, so buyer beware, do not to touch or point too closely to this area otherwise the latter will likely snap! This specimen is accompanied with a Richard W. Barstow white label, indicating it was in his personal mineral collection.
