Rich hackly masses of light chocolate brown Native Copper are infilled by densely packed granular milky Quartz from the old Poldory mine in Gwennap Parish, Cornwall.  The mine was probably begun early in the 1700’s, contemporary with and not far from the more famous Wheal Gorland.  A black mineral also pervades the complex mixture of Copper and Quartz, possibly massive Cuprite with an old dark patina, but this is not for certain.  An interesting and rich Native Copper from this famous Gwennap mine.
