A gorgeous group of tabular Azurite crystals with some areas pseudomorphing to Malachite after Azurite, from the most classic of all Azurite localities, Chessy-les-Mines in Villefranche, France, about 25 km northwest of Lyon. Chessy is the type locality for Azurite and specimens from here are always coveted. The Azurite crystals in this small miniature are very glassy with a bright lustre and although deep Azure blue, do maintain and display a true blue appearance, rather than an almost black look, common in dark blue Azurite. The largest tabular crystal measures 1.5 x 1.0 x 0.7 cm and all crystals display excellent geometric growth patterns on both their faces and edges. A stunning miniature Azurite from Chessy.
